Overview
Umami is a restaurant and bistro site built around three revenue lines rather than one: walk-in dining, events such as acoustic evenings, and group or private bookings. Each gets its own path through the page, and a table booking action stays pinned in the header so a decision made anywhere on the page can be acted on immediately.
Deliverables
What was produced
- 01
Homepage with a persistent 'Book a table' action and a visible review rating.
- 02
Menu and most-loved-dishes sections with per-dish ordering.
- 03
Events programme covering acoustic evenings and seasonal nights.
- 04
Group and private dining section, and a reservation flow.
Approach
How it was designed
- 01
A deep red and cream palette with a scalloped edge motif gives the site a printed-menu character rather than a template feel.
- 02
The review rating sits in the hero, because social proof decides a restaurant choice faster than any description.
- 03
Booking is pinned in the header – a reservation impulse can strike at any scroll depth.
- 04
Events are given equal billing with the menu, since they are what fills tables on quiet weeknights.
