Overview

The Institute of German Language teaches German to international students, and recruits through both printed material at fairs and its website. The campaign was designed as one system that survives the jump between a folded brochure and a browser.

Deliverables

What was produced

  • 01

Multi-panel brochure covering courses, contact and about sections.

  • 02

Matching web screens using the same modules and colour blocking.

  • 03

Campaign key visual – 'Learn German Language, bringing cultures together'.

  • 04

Presentation layout for the combined print and digital set.

Approach

How it was designed

  1. 01

The German flag's black, red and gold is reduced to a yellow field with red accents – recognisable, but not a flag pastiche.

  2. 02

Print panels and web sections share the same module widths, so content can be poured between formats without redesign.

  3. 03

Photography shows students together rather than classrooms, which is what the 'bringing cultures together' line is actually promising.

  4. 04

The URL is set large on the campaign key visual, because the brochure's job is to move a reader to the site.
