Overview
A companion to the HomeGig website design. Instead of describing the marketplace, the film shows it: the product's own screens are placed on laptop and phone mockups and introduced one feature at a time – sign up, post your project, apply on projects, projects in progress – before switching to mobile for sign-up and an in-app camera scan of the room. Homeowners and professionals each see their side of the marketplace before they ever visit the site.
Deliverables
What was produced
- 01
A 55-second product film at 1080p covering the desktop and mobile product.
- 02
Six captioned feature chapters: sign up, post a project, apply on projects, projects in progress, mobile sign-up and project scanning.
- 03
Laptop and phone mockup animation.
- 04
Logo open and close.
Approach
How it was designed
- 01
One feature per shot, each with a two- or three-word caption – the film works on mute, which is how most people meet it in a feed.
- 02
The brand's teal enters as a colour block that slides behind each device, carrying the viewer from one feature to the next.
- 03
Homeowner and professional features share one film, because a two-sided marketplace only works if both sides sign up.
- 04
Mobile is saved for last and leads with the camera scan – the one feature the desktop product cannot show.
