Overview
Most of chronic care happens between appointments: taking the right tablet at the right time, noticing a trend, booking the follow-up before the prescription runs out. Halo Health is our concept for a companion app that a clinic hands to its patients. It turns the medication plan into gentle reminders, keeps a running adherence score the doctor can also see, and lets the patient book a video follow-up into the clinic's real calendar without phoning the front desk.
Challenge
The problem to solve
Patients managing several medications are often older, busy or unwell. Every screen had to be calm, high-contrast and impossible to misread, while still giving clinicians data they can act on.
Deliverables
What was produced
- 01
iOS and Android app with medication schedules, reminders and one-tap 'taken' logging.
- 02
Adherence tracking shared with the patient's clinician, with weekly trends.
- 03
Follow-up booking against the clinic's live calendar, including video consultations.
- 04
In-app video consultations with picture-in-picture and call quality checks.
- 05
Clinician web portal: consult list, patient summaries and adherence charts.
Approach
How it was designed
- 01
The Today screen only ever shows what is due next – no dashboards for the patient, just the next dose and the next appointment.
- 02
Large type, generous tap targets and a single teal accent keep the interface legible for patients with poor eyesight or shaky hands.
- 03
Adherence is framed as a streak to keep, not a score to fail, which keeps patients logging honestly.
- 04
Clinicians see the same numbers the patient sees, so a consultation can start from shared facts rather than memory.
Outcome
Where it landed
Complete app and portal design with a tested prototype, plus an integration plan for appointment systems and a data-protection concept for EU-hosted health data.
A self-initiated studio concept, not client work – which is why it has no client name, testimonial or result figures.
